3 Tips For Fast And Effective Weight Loss
We’ve been to the moon and back, but we still can’t control our own waistlines; how is that possible? How is it possible that obesity is now the number one form of preventable death in the United States, ahead of smoking? One obvious explanation is that we’re getting a lot of bad advice. From diet fads to everyday weight-loss tips, it seems like everyone has an opinion, a shortcut, or a trick. But what really works? Here’s our advice.
Put away the scale
You don’t need to measure each and every morsel you put into your mouth. Yes, calories are important, but if you simply eat regular meals, you should be able to avoid incessant snacking.
Avoid liquid calories
When we eat anything, our bodies expend a certain amount of energy breaking down and digesting that food. Did you know, for example, that about one-third of the calories of a cooked steak are burned during digestion? But when something is imbibed, that liquid need not be digested much, which means few calories are needed to break them down. As a result, you should avoid drinking calorie-dense liquids whenever possible.
Don’t eat it all in one sitting
Although we know that hunger is a major global issue, you don’t have to feel guilty about not cleaning your plate when you aren’t hungry. Pack the leftovers in Tupperware instead and have them for lunch the next day.
