3 Easy Ways to Make Time for Exercise
In the eternal struggle with weight loss, there’s one thing we all know works. Whether we call it exercise or simply being active, extra movement helps our bodies burn calories, which promotes weight loss. The only problem is that repetitive activities can be boring. With that in mind, here are five atypical activities you can do whenever you like.
1. Take the stairs
There are lots of little things we can do to burn a few hundred extra calories each day. One of them is taking the stairs instead of an elevator ride at work. On average, climbing a flight of stairs should help you burn between 10 and 20 calories each time, depending on your weight and what you’re carrying. Now, that might not sound like a lot. But if you climb those same stairs just four times per day, that’s 40 to 80 burned calories!
2. Multitask
In these hectic, modern times, most of us have to make time to exercise. For some of us, that means working out while we perform other important daily chores. For example, you might do a few sets of squats while you brush your teeth or jog in place while waiting for the coffeemaker.
3. Clean
It takes an awful lot of energy to get your house or apartment in order. Dusting, vacuuming, and mopping might be dirty jobs, but they also help keep you slim and trim.
